An accredited club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they're choosing the right club for their young people.
In 2008 Nottingham City Netball Club was awarded their first CAPs (Club Action Planning) accreditation and in 2019, we have successfully renewed our accreditation for the next 4 years!
Clubs achieving this accreditation are recognised nationally as having a well-run club which is active and accessible and can demonstrate the safeguarding and protection of children, high-quality coaching and officiating, equal opportunities, leadership opportunities and good management. Thus getting the best out of young people and giving everyone a sporting chance.
Benefits of CAPS accreditation Achieving a CAPS accreditation enables the club to develop in a wide range of areas such as:
Increasing membership and retaining members. We pride ourselves as a progressive, family club with many of our juniors going on to play for the seniors. We always welcome new members (juniors and seniors). If you would like to come along please contact us,
Continually developing coaches, umpires and volunteers. All our junior and senior coaches and officials hold current England Netball qualifications. And all volunteers are DBS checked. Both the junior and senior section always need more volunteers. If you would like to volunteer as a scorer, team manager, fundraiser, coach or umpire please contact us,
Developing links with schools. We have strong links with a number of primary and secondary schools in the Nottingham City area with our coaches regularly running netball sessions for school aged players. If you would like us to work with your school please contact us
Raising the profile of the club. We work very closely with many Nottingham City leisure centres and community settings running satellite training.
Adopting good practice with regards to duty of care and sports equity. We have very clear guidelines with regards to Child Protection and all our volunteers do Safe Guard training. All club members sign a Code of Conduct and have a responsible adult they can speak to should any concerns arise. We welcome players of all age, shape and size, ability and ethnic origin.
